Hello MGBW on Rue La La

There really isn't much comfier to me than curling up on a big leather lounge chair with a comfy throw and a good book, and starting today, Rue La La is having a sale on Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Leather club chairs.  These MGBW chairs retail for around $1600. As the exclusive retailer of MGBW, Rue is offering these pieces for as low as $995 for a chair and $495 for an ottoman. Additionally, any purchase made from this sale comes with a complimentary $100 credit to use toward any MGBW retail store. Sounds like a win-win to me!

Here are a few images Rue La La was kind enough to share of just some of the pieces they will have available today.

This is a sale you will not want to miss. The week-long event starts at 11am eastern today over at Rue La La!

Hello Valentine's Day

Well folks, it has been almost 9 months since I last blogged. You have my sincerest apologies. Life has been a little hectic (well way more than a little, but I'll share more on that in a another post - hopefully sometime sooner than 9 months from now!)  I had some pretty images saved on my pinterest account that were just too perfect for today not to share.  Here's some Valentine's lovelies for you all.

Wedding Wednesday: Outdoor Lighting

I am enamored with this outdoor lighting idea I saw on Once Wed.

Here it is all set up in day light.

Here it is all lit up to set the mood for the evening.

I love that its a unique spin on candlelight.  I think it would be a great little surprise for your guests.

Manic Monday: Bathroom Armoire

Hi all, sorry for the long absence, sometimes life (and sometimes exhaustion, laziness, or wine and chocolate) get in the way of my blogging.  To help get me started off on the right foot each week I've decided to start a little series I'm going to call Manic Monday.  I so often find myself obsessing over some design element, detail, or idea for hours or days or weeks on end.  I figured given the amount of time I spend examining every aspect of whatever my current obsession may be I should probably be sharing it with all of you here.

This week I'm on the hunt for an armoire for our guest bath in order to store things like towels and toilet paper.  We also want it to serve double duty as a linen cabinet, this will open up space in one of the closets in our bedroom for more shoes and clothes!

Here is some pretty inspiration.

This built in here would be an absolute dream come true!

Here is what mine will look like in real life.  The Ikea Hemnes.  I'm thinking this will be the best fit for our bathroom, I like that it has covered storage on the bottom and glass doors on the top, this gives me room to hide some of the uglies and leaves opportunities for some great styling.

Here is another version of the Hemnes.  This one is all covered storage - no open styling opportunities, but it is much larger - will definitely hold comforters, pillows, sheets, etc., along with the bathroom necessities.  It may be just a tad too large - I'm definitely going to have to do some measuring and tape marking before I head out and actually make any purchases.

Either way, I think I'm definitely going to have to dress it up with some pretty hardware like this guy.

Any other ideas for great pieces for bathroom/linen storage?  I am definitely open to other items!

Happy Monday!

Wedding Wednesday: Chevron Cake

We all know that wedding cakes have come a long way from the traditional white frosted, vanilla cake.  You can pretty much have any flavor combination you can dream of and there are such amazing artists out there that your cake can take on any look you'd like.  One of the cake trends I've been loving lately is seeing cakes decorated in a chevron pattern.

This one almost looks like carrara marble!

Any cake or dessert trends you're adoring in weddings?

Wedding Wednesday: Poppy

I've been helping my sister out quite a bit over the last few weeks with the planning of her wedding.  One of the things I'm so excited about is her decision to use the color poppy in her wedding.  She is planning on having her bridesmaids in J. Crew's Vivid Poppy.

It is going to be tough to find the right color for certain elements - it really has to be the right mix of red, orange, and pink and it has to uber bright.  Here is some of the inspiration I have collected with this charming color.

Hello Black Door

I'm currently obsessing over the idea of painting the interior of our front door black.  I love this look and I think with our pale grey walls and white trim it will be a great contrast.  Here's my inspiration.

Thoughts on the contrasting entry door? Have any of you made the leap and painted your door a surprise color?
